About Us

What is the Reynolds County Sheltered Workshop?

We are a nonprofit employer of developmentally challenged people, and are partially funded by the Dept. of Education and Senate Bill S.B.40.  We are not only an employer, we strive to teach them new things.  We try to instill work ethics, self sufficiency, and a sense of worth.  Most of our employees would be sitting in a recliner watching tv all day if it wasn't for our workshop.  Our workshop gives them a reason to get up in the morning.  Our workshop gives them interaction with others.  Our workshop gives them an opportunity to be a productive part of our community.  And our workshop gives us, the  supervisors, the opportunity  to work hand in hand with these people.

We produce many, many different things!  We make quilts, quilt blocks, hanging towels, color book bags, rugs, baby quilts, pillows, afghans, table cloths, table scarves, and lots more things.  Then in the wood work shop we make toy boxes, gun racks, dog houses, pump houses, entertainment centers, washer games, and too many more things to list!

We also do yard work for people in the community.  You got leaves that need raked up?  Call us, we'll do it.  We cut grass, weed eat, rake, pick up rocks, clean out flower beds, and all for very reasonable rates!  Next time you need yard work done, call us and get it done quickly!!

God gave each of our people special talents and we try to help find those talents and fine tune them.
